CHIRIVELLA SORIANO. Valeriola, 13
He Museum of Spanish Abstract Art of Cuenca it has something special, and it is a museum thought and designed by artists, something truly exceptional in Spain in the sixties. And whose idea was this?? From the Filipino artist Fernando Zóbel, who saw the great shortcomings of the Spanish cultural panorama of the time and, on the other hand, the enormous quality of the work of the country's painters, that he had nothing to envy of other contemporary artists whose pieces he had seen in art centers, European and North American galleries and museums. This sample presents us with the works by three incomparable artists such as Zóbel, Jordi Weaver y José María Yturralde, and whose common thread is the certain balance that occurs in his painting between travel, knowledge of the world and contemplative nature of the work. The three created the magnificent museum that we mentioned before, who now gives up his works to, together with the funds of the Chirivella Soriano Foundation, transport us towards that contemplation in which so many masters, ancient and modern, they have made the painting consist.
