FROM THE DIJOUS 4/11
MuVIM. Quevedo, 10
The Valencian night of the eighties, stripped of the puritanical corsets of Francoism, she burst out provocatively in the cabarets with the glitter of the sequins. Antonio Campos was a truck driver from Bétera who became La Margot, one of the first transformists to emerge in Cap i Casal, a true star of the best music halls valencians (Chinese Theater, The Belle Epoque…) who imitated Sara Montiel on stage (li dien “La Sarona”), Raphael or El Titi with grace and impudence. The exhibition La Margot. Trans (form) in freedom unfold dresses, wigs and jewelry from La Margot, the video of one of his most emblematic performances and a lot of photographs that visualize the atmosphere of openness and effervescence that was lived in that Valencia freed from blackness.
