HALT! Images that think

UNTIL SUNDAY 12/1
THE SHIP. University, 2

The images created by Artur Heras do not only reflect on the reality from which they emerge or on the plastic traditions to which they allude, they also do it about their own image condition, of representation. Heras do not close commoure nor shake, but to understand, communicate and interpellate. This is the reflection of the curator of this exhibition, Anacleto Ferrer, about the Xativí artist who stars in it. HALT! means "stop" in German and appeals to the need to deal with far-right positions such as the one put into question by Xoà, downplaying the murder of millions of Jews, gypsies, Slavs, political opponents, i dissidents religiosos, social and sexual. The same need exists to deal with the state of Israel born in the shadow of that horrifying holocaust, which has been violating international law for years by establishing settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, and months of indiscriminate bombing of the Palestinians. Fa 79 years tried to hide the extermination perpetrated by the Nazis, Today the Zionist soldiers upload it to TikTok amid laughter. A version of this exhibition of large-scale drawings and paintings paying tribute to the victims of totalitarianism was exhibited in Frankfurt last year under the title From the night and the fog (euphemistic name of the decree of 1941 who used the practices of forced disappearance of people) and arrives on time in Valencia, when the specter of fascism roams Europe and the world.
