In the time of the Visigoths in the Valencian territory

MUSEUM OF PREHISTORY. Corona, 36

The Museum of Prehistory presents nearlya hundred archaeological objects recovered from the most emblematic Visigoth sites in the Valencian territory. The Visigoths penetrated the Iberian Peninsula in the fifth century, as allies of Rome, to regain control of the more Romanized areas from the hands of the Vandals and Alans and they remained here until the beginning of the 8th century. In the time of the Visigoths in the Valencian territory he wants to erase the preconceived idea that these two hundred years of rule were dark, with materials from late period sites such as Els Xarcons de Montserrat, The Falquía de Beinixida, The Romaní a Sollana or the Pla de Nadal de Riba-roja: a glass bowl carved with everyday scenes, amber necklaces and glass paste, a bronze chandelier… Experts say that knowledge of the Visigothic world is essential to assess the establishment of the Muslim world and to understand the genesis of feudal times in our lands. Go and let them explain it to you! AU
