UNTIL SUNDAY 5/5
CARME CENTER. Museum, 2
Monique Bastiaans has recreated in a site specific for him Carmel Center the dreamlike atmosphere of the old cabinets of curiosities full of exotic objects that came from unknown worlds. Honeycombs, insects, larvae, shells… Strange creatures and organic shapes populate this room that welcomes us with an oversized virus that does not understand microscopic scales or science.. The blades of a prickly pear forming the goddess Nature underline the importance of magical-mystical thinking in the origin of culture and the sound of a red weevil larva reminds us of the importance of matching biorhythms with the environment.. In The gap between words The Belgian artist reflects on the relationship we have with nature and the insects that inhabit it. AU
