UNTIL MONDAY 27/5
GENS PUMPS. Burjassot, 54
After the first taste they offered during the Fallas, ara yes, Bombas Gens officially inaugurated at the end of March the new project aimed at digital arts with which, they say, he was the first digital artist in history. Salvador Dalí spoke about cybernetics and art created between humans and machines before anyone else. He was a visionary in many ways: he painted a Coca-Cola before Warhol, he made his life a work of art before performers and created with computers before the advent of digital art. Contrary to the defenders of the "aura" of the work of art (original and unique), pen and Dalí, technical reproducibility posed no threat, that's why he was one of the first artists to experiment with photography, also with the cinema, holography and cybernetics. A humanist of his time, whom some contemporaries pointed out for his complacent attitude towards the Franco dictatorship, among them, Eduardo Arroyo, protagonist right now of an exhibition of the Bancaja Foundation where hangs a court jester with a mustache marking two to ten in a clear allusion to the artist from Figueres. In any case, Dalí is primarily known for surrealism, i the fact that Cibernetic dalí what he wants to do is uncover the more unknown Dalí, which structured an innovative discourse on topics such as divinity or immortality by thoroughly studying scientific concepts, the one who sought truth and beauty through science. The tour - approximately ninety minutes long - begins in an animated immersive room in which you can enjoy a forty-minute audiovisual work projected on a thousand square meters of screens on the walls and in the sun with the intoxicating original soundtrack by Rafael Plana. you will see, for example, how Dalí was inspired by the Mediterranean landscape to paint some of his famous paintings (The great masturbator, others), or his fascination with the double helix of DNA. You will be able to make your own interpretation of Dalí, discover those made by other artists, watch a documentary about the artist's stay in New York, explore its symbology in an interactive installation (mosques, ants, clocks, the pomegranate, whether or not) i, finally, put on your virtual reality glasses to tour the quintessential Dalinian environments in the metaverse room (the sea, he the, the desert and the void) while a giant lobster jumps over you and you cross paths with elephants with kilometre-long legs. The first major project of Bombas Gens Center d'Arts Digitals is dedicated to the surrealist and proto-digital genius. S.M.
