The work of Manuel Blazquez it's clean, minimalist, elegant and conceptual. In D759 in B minor the artist – winner of the DKV National Drawing Prize-MARK– proposes the union of two artistic disciplines, music and art, as Piet Mondrian or Sonia Delaunay did in the last century. Blázquez has plastically reinterpreted the so-called “Unfinished Symphony” by Franz Schubert, the mysterious two-movement work labeled by some as an exceptional but unfinished piece and by others as an original creation conceived by the composer's innovative mind. As? Well, obtaining a mathematical result of the music that has been applied graphically on a grid that is full of shapes, geometric perforations, lines and emptiness (the silences). AU
