UNTIL SUNDAY 27/3
C.M. RECTOR PESET. Pl. Oven of Sant Nicolau, 4
The Honduran environmental activist Berta Cáceres was murdered on 2016 to defend the territory and rights of the Honduran Lenca community against large companies and transnational corporations that operate with impunity in the extraction of natural resources. his daughter, Bertha Isabel Zúñiga Cáceres is one of the forty activists from Honduras and Guatemala photographed by the renowned photojournalist Gervasio Sanchez for the exhibition Activists for life, made of recorded interviews, portraits, and panels that explain who you are facing and what their fight is. Men and women who stand dignified and proud in the face of death threats they receive to fight against extractive mining and hydropower plants that ravage their countries with impunity. Waging war in the courts, practicing journalism, setting up roadblocks to prevent the passage of heavy machinery or making radio programs so that citizens know their rights. Sense idealizations, the project does not avoid internal conflicts between communities, machismo or homophobia, which must also be dealt with as another aspect of their struggle for territory and nature.
