40 Years of serial product design. The School of Art and Ceramics

THE SHIP. University, 2

Objects speak to us, keep small secrets of our life, they tell us how our world has changed over the years. Through the exhibition 40 Years of serial product design. The School of Art and Ceramics, objects such as tea sets, café o salers show us how ceramic design has evolved in recent times and how the need to emphasize the role of this noble material in a cultured and sustainable society has grown. Each of these exquisite pieces, that could seem mundane or superfluous, they are seen as true works of local art, being created under the mantle of a century-old school that has been able to adapt to the times, and even anticipate them with new production techniques and designs. At a time when human weakness is undeniable, the need to resort to natural materials in the face of indestructible plastic is a reality and an urgency, so we can only join the call used by the school in 2016, now more valid than ever: “Less plastic and more porcelain”.
