ROMAN THEATER OF SAGUNT. Pl. Facundo Roca, s/n (Camp de Morvedre)
Heroines and antiheroines, heroes and antiheroes roam freely through the streets of Sagunto in the thirty-fourth edition of a festival Sagunto in Scene that splashes with theater, dance and circus the ancient and modern city. And the nerve center of the programming will continue to be the Roman Theater but, in this edition, The offer is expanded and the Off Romà is enriched, the section of the festival that includes street shows or shows in different parts of Sagunto. Premieres also increase, as is the case of Amazonas [26/7] from the Andanzas company, show that unites theater, flamenco, dance and music at the service of the legend of these mythical warriors; The crown jewel and closing of the festival will be the world premiere of the opera The Gap [3/9], by Jaques Alphonse de Zeegant and directed by Paco Azorín, an allegory, a myth, a story where love triumphs over evil. The strong commitment of La Dependent and the IVAC is De Sukei a Naima [19/7], which recounts the loss of identity and culture of the Moorish people, and is part of one of the many pieces in Valencian in this edition. Music with capital letters from the hand of one of the most wonderful voices in the country: Silvia Perez Cruz, that presents us Evening dress [21/7]. Dance gains relevance with shows like Man Ray [23/7], co-production of Taiat Dansa with the IVAC and the Grec Festival of Barcelona; the latest from Israel Galván, The Party [29/7] or the flamenco of the Marea Danza company in Reliefs from myth to dance [22/8]. Y, of course, classical theater could not be missing with bets such as Troyanas directed by Carme Portaceli, with Aitana Sánchez Gijón and Ernesto Alterio [3 y 4/8], Caligula by Albert Camus directed by Mario Gas [18/19/8] o life is dream from Calderón de la Barca [26/8].
