Que a Lorca lo mataron pocas semanas después del golpe de estado franquista lo sabemos de sobra, como sabemos que fue enterrado de tapadillo en algún lugar que no sabemos. Al poeta de mayor influencia y popularidad de la literatura española del siglo XX lo hicieron desaparecer, ni tumba tiene, por socialista y homosexual. Y tras él, fueron asesinados o murieron por destierro y olvido otros muchos creadores como Miguel de Unamuno, Mª Teresa León, Antonio Machado, María Casares, Miguel Hernandez, María Zambrano, Zenobia Camprubí, Luis Cernuda… Lola López se ha propuesto recuperar el legado de todos ellos con poesías, testimonios y música que tejen A country that kills its poets.
