Tecún Umán

FROM THURSDAY 5 ON SUNDAY 15/10
OVERSEAS ROOM. Alzira, 9

Knowing and discovering more about our origins is an emotional struggle that we have all faced at some point.. When some of your roots are thousands of miles away, as is the case of the creator and performer of this piece, Alexander Lemus, Questions multiply and confronting the past makes it even more difficult to find your identity.. What does it mean to be from somewhere? Is it really that important to know the answer? Through the figure of Tecún Umán, the last great K'iche warrior of Guatemala, The author and director invites us on this journey of self-discovery where he also takes the opportunity to reflect on racism and colonialism.
