TO THE MUTANT. John Verdeguer, 22
On the november of 2019, the philosopher Paul B. Valued is addressed to 3.500 psychoanalysts with a speech that will cause an earthquake in the audience, published under the title I am the monster that speaks to you. Attacks against a discipline that drags the social evolution of gender relations and against a normative psychology that, as a non-binary trans person, considers her “mentally ill” and diagnoses her with “gender dysphoria”. the monster, actually, it's the one that doesn't speak, what is turned into a monster by those who speak in its place and constitute it as a monstrous object. In his monologue, Preciado inverts the discursive relationship, domination in and through discourse, in emancipating oneself from the habitual fate of the “monster”, in speaking against those who condemn him. A powerful speech, intimate and political, which makes us reflect on our capacity to accept social change, which can now be revived on stage with Preciado himself accompanied by Bambi, Victor Viruta, Andy Díaz and Fabi Hernández.
