We know what it means to have a mental illness? What prejudice do we have on this subject or about the people who suffer from it? The box, where reality loses its limits is a piece that investigates the universe of the mind and the obstacles faced by people who perceive reality far from the parameters accepted by our society. It does so with a staging inspired by the aesthetics of the art brut movement, a performative game and an installation made up of research-related objects, which can be visited at the end of the show. An autobiographical documentary theater work created, directed and performed by Desirée Belmonte who was nominated for best new author and best new show at the Max Awards 2023. G.T.
