Early in the decade of the 90, Hadi Kurich was the stage director of the National Theater of Sarajevo and Ana Kardelis worked as an actress in Belgrade. The Balkan war had broken out and both artists decided to get away from barbarism and exile in Spain, where they founded the Resistance Theater. In the almost thirty years of his company's history, they only dealt with the subject of war once, in his first work, Work first, for fear of being pigeonholed and in a rush to rebuild their lives and leave the tragedy behind.
