Jews died in Nazi concentration camps, but also homosexuals, communists, gypsies… and stateless people. By Mauthausen, a charming little Austrian town on the banks of the Danube, Seven thousand Republican Spaniards passed through who, after losing the civil war in their country, joined the resistance against Hitler and were taken prisoner.. Franco did not want to know anything about them, so, no country to claim them, They ended up imprisoned in death factories with an embroidered blue triangle. The blue triangle tells how a group of Spaniards managed to take the negatives of the photos outside that served as irrefutable evidence to incriminate those responsible for the Nazi atrocities committed within the camp.. But this play raises much more. National Dramatic Center that revolves around the famous reflection of the philosopher Theodor Adorno: “Can you continue making art after Auschwitz?”? More questions: How could a country like Germany, birthplace of music and philosophy, having been responsible for such atrocities? Can a Nazi be a perfect loving father? Can you continue living with regret and shame for not having done anything, or not enough? Can you make humor out of horror?? This play is the demonstration that yes, The barbarism that exists in the countryside coexists with happy music and transgressive songs that help men and women who know they are going to die endure the hours.. In The blue triangle everyone plays to survive, each with their weapons, whether it's humor, resignation or hope. S.M.
