The Micalet Theater company, with an extensive and stellar cast, lead to the stage The Evil of Inishmaan of the controversial playwright and screenwriter Anglo-Irish Martin McDonagh, who chooses in his texts to appeal to the attention of the viewer with proposals of black humor, raw, horribly violent, in what has come to be called theater in yer face. The town of Inishmaan—in rural Connacht Ireland—, receives news that a Hollywood production will be filmed on its streets, i Billy, the evil of the people, the mirror that reflects the best and the worst of the community, it will distill reflections on the good and the bad of the human condition itself. The work portrays the fact of being different, maladaptive in a conventional and hermetic society that encourages single-mindedness as a formula for controlling individuals. SERGIO BELLO
