Carmina Burana

FROM THURSDAY 25 ON SUNDAY 28/6
ARTS. Professor Lopez Piñero, 1

To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Arts, the choreographer Edward Clug and the Ballet Dortmund present an unrepeatable show. The historic German company will reinterpret the acclaimed music of Carl Orff, that cantata inspired by medieval texts that satirized all social classes, especially the people who held the power of the crown and the clergy. Carmina Burana talks about topics like the crusades, love, he game, wine and chance. With a circular choreography that seeks perfection, the play begins and ends with the wheel of fortune, the central metaphor for an unstable and cyclical nature of human destiny. Luck changes without warning. The Orchestra of the Valencian Community, the Heart of the Generalitat, three vocal soloists and the dancers of the Dortmund Ballet come together in an enchanting montage. ASSUME TAMARIT
