In case anyone doesn't know yet, the Goya awards come to Valencia. Little, not that they come like that, they alone, by his own foot. What is happening is that this year Valencia will host the celebration of the 36th edition of the awards given by the’Spanish Film Academy. In response to this event, The Filmoteca offers us some of the titles that aspire to get a statuette this year, presented by directors, actors and producers. The cycle consists of two parts. The first is made up of films that aspire to Best Novel Direction. Here we can see: Chavalas [1], by Carol Rodríguez Colás, Life was that [5] by David Martín de los Santos i Josefina [10] by Javier Marco from Alicante, a powerful portrait of loneliness. The second part will feature the films that aspire to the title of Best Film of this edition. We can see again The good boss [2] by Fernando León de Aranoa, the film with the most nominations; Freedom [3] by Clara Roquet, intimate account of adolescence and the relationship between the Catalan middle class and immigration; Mrsl [4] D'Icar Bollaín, Mediterranean [9] by Marcel Barrena, which addresses the issue of the migratory crisis in the sea that gives it its name, and Pedro Almodóvar's latest production, Parallel mothers [8].
