With the award for best film at the last Seville Festival, Martin Eden is a revision of the novel of the same title by the American writer Jack London. Taking the plot to Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, Martin is a young man from a humble class who falls in love with Elena., a young woman from the local bourgeoisie. Martin has decided to bridge class differences by becoming a successful writer. But as your reputation increases, two facts distance him from Elena: his growing political commitment and, with this, his distance from reality. G.LEON
