In summer of 2004 I was looking forward to Arthur Lee's performance in one of the tents at the Benicàssim festival. He had recently been released from prison after a dubious sentence and his desire for freedom was mixed with the news of the death of his friend Rick James and high doses of alcohol., which made him go out on stage in a state that almost prevented him from standing.. The emotion was the same: before us we had someone in 1967 he signed one of the best albums in history with his band Love, the sublime Forever changes. At that time Lee thought that he was going to die soon and that that album would be his last words. He was wrong, Well, he died two years after our meeting at the FIB., but the desire to do the best possible job paid off. That immense album alone would be reason enough for a book, but here the anecdotes of a life of alcohol come together, substances, expensive cars and creativity in abundance in which other illustrious figures such as Jimy Hendrix appear, Jim Morrison o Robert Plant, all of them fans of the unsocial Lee. A very interesting and enjoyable review of the life of this illustrious rock star in a book that was originally published in 2001 and that in this new edition in Spanish it is updated with an unprecedented epilogue by the author.
