Sing backwards and weep
Mark Lanegan
Against Editorial | 2022
Sing back and cry. This is the title of the autobiography of the American Mark Lanegan, originally published in 2020 and translated into Spanish now, barely a few months after his recent death at 57 years. With brutal intensity and sincerity, The composer remembers the passages of a life that always oscillated between music and drugs, consuming and selling. The numerous dealings brought him his problems with the law, which made arrests and life in the same misery the order of the day. Nor did it help him to end up living poorly in squat houses., the unsuccessful detox programs and fights. These ingredients already make for a most interesting book., but in its pages he also talks about his band Screaming Trees and others with which he was also closely linked., with anecdotes in which illustrious figures such as Nick Cave appear, Kurt Cobain o Liam Gallagher, which spices up an already superb story.
Murcia loves indie
Victoria Sanchez
Calblanque | 2022
One of the cities that has always stood out for its indie movement is Murcia. With this prolific history of bands and artists, it is not difficult to fill a book dedicated to their scene.. The most complicated thing is to do it in a didactic and enjoyable way., something that more than achieves this volume that has just seen the light. Murcia loves indie It is the project of Victoria Sánchez, teacher (perhaps that is why the book is pedagogical) what, after a long research work, hours of interviews and a lot of passion, has filled some illustrated pages with the history of those bands that have turned Murcia into a musical reference. Anecdotes, the reason for the names, discography and data that you probably didn't know about bands like Farmacia de Guardia, Second, Long live Sweden, Varry brava, Holiday or Parade, among many others.
