I WOULD PUT ON YOU
Andrew Matheson
Contra Editorial | 2017
There was a group in the early seventies that had everything to succeed: consolidated attitude with its eccentric clothing and aesthetics glam, powerful songs and a life touching (or getting fully involved) in the marginal. And they cherished that success, but only with the tips of your fingers. Eran The Queen, who after a run-in with Freddie Mercury had to change their name to Hollywood Brats. You probably don't remember them, or you have never even heard them. They lasted four years and in that time they went from rehearsing with old instruments and living in squat houses to signing with a record company., spin, earn small fortunes and record an album in their dream studios that was never released properly. It was the beginning of the end, as precipitous as his rise, sinking miserably just before the arrival of bands like The Clash or Sex Pistols, with those who had so much in common. They are frontman era Andrew Matheson, who in the first person narrates in this book the adventures of his band since he landed in London from his native Canada. A light-hearted narrative that is very entertaining to read and, with intelligent humor, tells the short life of this precursor group of the London punk scene. An act of justice to not forget one of the cursed bands in English musical history.

The lullabies
The Volcano Music| 2017
This recent vinyl is a lullaby album without being one, of songs that delve into our most infantile unconscious. Because Joël Iriarte is clear about it: if a young child can be old, you too can go back to childhood (and this album will help you).
INTERNATIONAL DISC:
FOSTER THE PEOPLE
Sacred hearts club
Sony Music | 2017
Electronics are the protagonist in the addictive third work by Americans Foster The People, with synthesizers and discreet electric guitars, their characteristic voices, choruses and good doses of sweetener. An eclectic and organic album, but above all a pop album.
