FROM FRIDAY 23 ON SUNDAY 25/10

Built in the year 1870 with a very particular dodecagonal structure, La Gallera was one of the many rooster circuses that existed in Valencia in the 19th century. The funny thing is that the building was built specifically for cockfights, with bleachers and interior balconies from which you could contemplate the wonderful fights. For that, its architecture is so curious, ideal as an exhibition hall of the Consortium of Museums and some private initiative. Certainly, it deserves a visit together with the architecture festival Open House Valencia, as the interior of Gulliver Park deserves, the Sapadors Police Complex, the old Tobacco Factory, the Market and the Drassanes del Grau, the Botanical Garden, the Educational Complex of Xest, or l'Espai Verd, one of the most special residential complexes in the city. The other great attraction of Open House is the nineteen guided tours that have been organized to get to know the Islamic wall of Balansiya, modernism, the Nolla mosaic or the maritime industrial heritage, and the itineraries dedicated to tactical urbanism and ephemeral architecture, energy and the heat island effect, the hidden gardens or the architecture during the Franco regime. Besides, there will be talks about access to housing, the future city, urban ecosystems and new construction materials such as solar roof tiles; and visits to Xàtiva's heritage, Cocentenary, Llíria and Manises, the municipalities invited this year.
