mostraviva.org

Mostra Viva returns in full force with a program full of culture that spills into the Mediterranean Sea. The festival starts strong by inviting female voices like that of the Tunisian to sing Emel Mathlouthi [26/9], that combines the folk of its origins with Maghrebi rock and electronic music inspired by Björk and Massive Attack; or the Cypriot Vakia Stravrou [24/9], one of the best European voices to emerge in the last decade according to the international specialized press. The circus for all audiences will once again have its place thanks to, among others, Edu Manazas, that in Out of stock [10/10] he wonders if he works to live or lives to work; or of Inc.. Mur, that explores in Deducted [10/10] what begins to happen when two individuals meet face to face without interference: boredom, the game, love, understanding, anger, complicity, manipulation, trust… Street dance is inclusive this year at Mostra Viva. You will find dance with books in Vestige [2/10], inclusive flamenco in Invictus [2/10], the game with empty space In vain [1/10], the idea of the wall [1/10] as a metaphor for the homogeneous and oppressive; and dance with projections of video mapping and music from the legendary album Omega by Morente and Lagartija Nick (From Sacromonte to New York, 3/10]. The writers' meeting pays tribute to the recently deceased Valencian Cervantes Prize winner Francisco Brines by presenting an anthology with a selection of his most emblematic poems. Besides, Fernando Delgado will participate in a talk titled Writers facing the Mediterranean y Bel Olid is part of a round table that will focus on women and books. This is just a selection, take a look at the programming because there is also style song, a conference on music and science of the Mediterranean, oral narration, a masterclass with the artist Elia Torrecilla, video creation, workshops, Very diverse exhibitions and debates on LGTBI plurality in the Mediterranean, couscous and paella or food sovereignty.
