The Speedways are a quartet of English musicians who make masterful power pop, they sound very much like a seventies American band, with clear influences from The Raspberries, The Knack o Elvis Costello, but musically they go further. Formats 2017 and with three albums on the market (Just another regular summer, Radio sounds i Talk of the town), they compose songs as if they were eternal hymns, less than three minutes of pounding, choppy guitars, melodies brillants, infectious refrains and lyrics about chicks, amor, gelosia i ruptures. The Por Ella Runners will be the stylistically perfect band to introduce them. Promising evening for pop enthusiasts. XIMO MARQUIS
