Residente en Francia desde los diez años, este músico y activista es una de las grandes figuras del Raï, junto con Khaled y Faudel, pero su música va un poco más allá dentro del mestizaje. Su mezcla de estilos se basa tanto en la reinterpretación de la música tradicional árabe como directamente en la utilización de claves pop, rock, dub o electrónica interpretadas desde su particular visión y sonido africano;.
