Acoustic nights: Varry Brava

THE SQUARE. Sant Bru, 16

If he 2020 it has been a year with few holidays, the publication of the very funny and summery fifth album of the Varry Brava, Tacky (Altafonte, 2020) at the end of summer it will have at least musically given an idea of the joy of living in our sad half-closed months. “Tacky” with a pop idea kitsch which the band has declined at their whim: rosa caramel, a poop emoticon covered in glitter, pop references who enter here and there and, even, a rhythmic reggaeton dive in “Loco”… Musical, energy dominates synthpop characteristic of the Oriola band, fast rhythms, roaring guitars that give us a lovely hiatus during this pandemic “shit”. To say we're hysterical at the thought of meeting these joyous pop thieves live is an understatement. B.L.
