A year and a half after its debut, Deadletter consolidate themselves as one of the key bands of the new revival British post-punk and in women try the number of concerts scheduled for spring and summer. His new job, Existence Is Bliss, does not break with the past, but it does strain him: we find a more ambitious album, where the details make the difference. The sound grows, it darkens and expands into more sophisticated territories, both echoes of synth-pop and a discursive layer that points to social criticism. Between the viscerality channeled by Zach Lawrence's voice and the elegance reinforced by Poppy Richler's sax, the quintet finds a magnetic balance that places them on the same plane as bands like Yard Act o Fountains D.C. MARIA M.
