THE LIMINAL. Pl. Valves, 3
The Liminal is transformed into a large artist's book in the exhibition of Naomi Melville, fed by facilities site-specific, embroidery, drawings, sculptures and engravings that turn concepts such as inheritance on their head, cultural transmission and miscegenation. As? From genealogies, documents and testimonies. Stitch by stitch, draw landscapes on cotton, carves inscriptions in wood that become infinite before the mirror, plays with glass shards… Melville's work invites a rereading of time and history by piercing the fabric with a needle or chiselling wood with a gouge..
