THE MULTICOLORED EQUILIBRIUM BETWEEN ANIMALS AND HUMANS

CARME CENTER. Museum, 2
Virtual visit.

The Center del Carme is more failed than ever. In part, because our municipal failure is more experimental and groundbreaking than ever. Last month, the monument created by the falleros masters Latorre and Sanz together with the well-known artist burned in front of the Valencia town hall. Okuda San Miguel, that has also left us a tour of his last nine years of artistic career in the form of an exhibition. Organic works and classic gray surrealism give way to multicolored geometric shapes and animals in the sample The multicolored equilibrium between animals and humans that you saw the 600 square meters of the Ferreres room at the Center del Carme. A curious contrast between Okuda's geometric and colorful shapes and the neoclassical style of the room. The artist has painted expressly a huge mural for the central hallway that pours into rooms full of art in traditional format (wonderful Gasskin sculpture), but also with embroidery, about a rubik's cube, in light boxes, con mappings o drippings. And what does not fit inside a museum, photography brings it to us: the process of creating the falla or its interventions in public spaces such as the Kaos Temple in Llanera (Asturias). S.M.
