botanical breathing

Drawing cabinet. Literate Azorín, 33

Inhale… exhale… breathe… That is what the works of Nieves Torralba, to the calm, to the calm. botanical breathing brings together a series of large format graphite that reproduces plant shapes with taste and elegance, the artist translates and purifies nature with simple grayscale volumes that convey a lot of peace. There are also small works that follow the same line, but made with silver tips, a centuries-old technique practiced by Renaissance masters at a time when the use of graphite had not yet spread. A metal rod is used on chemically treated paper to mark bright, well-defined lines that cannot be erased.. An art that Torralba handles with mastery. AU
