The 65 Unpublished drawings by Manolo Gil who come from the album made by his widow - also artist -,Jacinta Gil, They are the excuse to set up this exhibition that claims the figure of the Valencian in the centenary of his birth. Premature death at the age of thirty-two truncated the career ofA talent that was seen as a renewing future of Spanish art, A man advocating risk that promoted the creation of one of the first avant -garde art groups in postwar Spain, The Z Group. And of the renowned Parpalló group, ojo. The sheets and press clippings of the mentioned album alternate with a selection of paintings, Gil's career -representative objects and engravings belonging to the IVAM collection. The proposed route is absolutely linear: Gil's first steps opposed with chiaroscuro and painting embedded in Sorolla's luminism that succeeded at that time (years 45-50), The murals made for the Mercantile Athenaeum and the Casa Pedro task, the purification of the forms, the creation of melancholy pictures, the invention of deformed and acid colored "plastic monsters", and turning to abstraction as a result of his relationship with Jorge Oteiza.
