Genesis

UNTIL SUNDAY 27/10
F. BANCAJA. Pl. Tetouan, 23

Although it comes from academic painting, Maria Aranguren he found his artistic personality in geometric abstraction. But not only gender defines her, also does, above all, the support you use to develop it. From 2008 started using cellular polycarbonate, these are, industrial plastic panels with closed channels inside where the artist inserts more or less liquid paint, screens, straps or papers that seek chromatic harmony. His paintings are handmade, she makes the colors herself, combined with austerity in plots and lines (horizontal or vertical) They give rise to large-format geometric creations that are elegant and fresh at the same time.. Music is a source of inspiration in pieces in which repetition and composition are combined., order and chance, the fluid and the static, color and light, to illuminate a different and daring way of understanding painting and its support. Definitely, geometric and lyrical abstraction in which, you already know, the search for the sensory takes precedence over reflection. That is Genesis, a sensory exhibition that collects the last twenty years of artistic creation by Aranguren, a pioneer in the use of that strange technique that consists of painting inside the hollow cells of polycarbonate to surprise us all.
