FRAGMENTS 2018

MuVIM. Quevedo, 10

The great project for all audiences of the Union of Valencian Journalists returns to the MuVIM – dependent on the Provincial Council of Valencia – eight years after the Popular Party censored some photographs belonging to the exhibition Fragments d’un Any. After a tour of La Nau and the Center del Carmen, the wounds have closed and he returns home renamed for the second year with the name of Fragments. We no longer find a selection of the best Valencian photojournalism, but the winning work of the Fragments Grant that rewards an author for the production of a photographic essay on the contemporary reality of the Valencian Country. This year we will see the show The invisible river of Francisco Wolf, photographic rewriting of a story that begins when the Franco government decided to divert the final stretch of the Túria river to avoid flooding in the urban center of the city. The program of activities is also very interesting: Sonia Berger, by Dalpine Publishing House, will talk about promotion and distribution of the photo book [22/4], Rob Hornstra about The Sochi Project, a model self-published long-term photojournalistic project about the Winter Games in Russia from 2014 [13/4], i Edu Ponces i Roger Pérez, founders of NOISE Photo, will offer a conference on how to bring independent photojournalism to the streets [20/4].
