THE SOFT ALGORITHMS

CARME CENTER. Museum, 2

Google, Facebook and Twitter work with algorithms, that is to say, complicated mathematical formulas that allow machines to make decisions and display content adapted to each user's profile. And in the midst of controversy because of the influence that these "innocent" algorithms have been able to have, for example, in the election of Donald Trump president of the United States, the Center del Carme inaugurates an exhibition that analyzes and questions this hidden language that conditions our daily life. You will find historical pieces such as the first video art proposal signed in Brazil on 1973 by Analivia Cordeiro and a work by Moisés Mañas that reacts to the dust of the room by means of an algorithm.
