The landscape in Porcar's painting, Lahuerta and Lozano

UNTIL SUNDAY 12/6
BANCAJA FOUNDATION. Tetouan, 23

To look at these pieces is to see the landscape of our community as we have never done before.: summer landscapes, Náquera, Alicante, the Rivalta park in Castellón, Malvarrosa or Saler now seem beautiful like no other, potent, overwhelming. Those who have managed to awaken the gaze of admiration towards our landscape are three painters, Juan Bautista Porcar, Genaro Lahuerta and Francisco Lozano, the three born in the Valencian Community and lovers of an ignored landscape. All three are painters somewhere between inheritance and transformation., with a debt to Valencian painting from between centuries. They are deep admirers of Sorolla and at the same time consider themselves renovators of the landscape., since they assimilate the avant-garde artistic language, using striking colors and thick brush strokes, they approach expressionism. At a time when climate change is a reality, exhibitions like this represent a true vindication, a return to a nature and a landscape that we should have known and we have not, and no one else will.
