F. CHIRIVELLA SORIANO. Valeriola, 13
Geometry continues to be the focus of the Chirivella Soriano Foundation. After Monika Buch, Another militant of geometric art arrives at the Palau de Valeriola, but with a finer and more elegant line. Martin Noguerol, one of the Valencian references of geometric abstraction, shows work created between 1982 y 2006 that is born from personal introspection and flees from the obvious. There is no figuration or message of any kind, no need to do it. through shapes, lines and few colors (black and white abound) assemble elegant compositions, simple and harmonious, who drink from the minimal. The minimalist trend tends to clean and reduce works, but after Malevich and his painting white on white(1916) Noguerol believes that it cannot go down, That's why we have to look for more complexity, no less, but not necessarily in the visual aspect. “Art is not simply what we see”, stated at the presentation press conference. Another characteristic of his work is seriality because he does not conceive art as a single and canonical work., but as a process of experimentation in which intuition plays a capital role. Through repetition with small variations, he manages to create a rhythm that seeks to resemble music or the succession of frames in cinema.. Playing with simple elements (a very fine line on a geometry painted in oil) offers us endless possibilities. S.M.
