UNTIL SUNDAY 29/6
MuVIM. Quevedo, 10
In his work, Rafael Armengol he tends to use images of classical iconography from admiration. He also tends to approach the media by turning his own language upside down, through color decomposition. These are two characteristics that have also infected his portraits of friends and family, often broken down into colored dots and vertical stripes, or with architectures of ancient Greece in the background landscapes. They were series like The slaughter of the pig o Tower of Babel the ones that gave glory to the Benimodo painter, But the MuVIM wanted us to look at portraits by Armengol through which several movements in the history of art since the seventies filter. I will see people very close to him, like his partner Marisa, together with recognized figures such as Vicent Andrés Estellés (very friend of yours), Vicent Aguilera Cerni, Clementina Ródenas or Romà de la Calle.
