In 2017, the Ministry of Culture initiated a campaign to acquire works of art by Valencian artists or residents of the Valencian Community for, on the one hand, enrich the public artistic heritage and, on the other, putting on the patron's hat, help artists and galleries develop their work. 3 years of acquisitions collect 42 works of contemporary art acquired between 2017 i 2019, in different formats and made by artists of different generations, that yes, with absolute gender parity. Agustín Serisuelo criticizes in his installation the urban demolitions that have remained in our towns due to the culture of urban pelotazo, the il·lustradora Cristina Duran reveals the creative process of the graphic novel The day 3, Lukas Ulmi transforms quadrangular shapes of thin iron rods into impossible figures, Rafaela Pareja play with the shadows of organic shapes made of porcelain, Patricia Gómez and María Jesús González rescue the memory printed on the walls of the old Model prison in Valencia, Xavier Montsalvatje he writes critical messages about a toilet against the bad habit that has the power to occupy public space, Ruben Tortosa he recreates the white kites that planes make in the air in his interactive installation, Ernesto Casero questions the Darwinian view of the evolution of species by pencil drawing extinct animal species marked with Darwinian qualifiers in gothic letters, Bleda and Rosa reflect on history, the landscape and memory in his photographs, Teresa Cebrian calls for freedom of expression with a latex bag from which words escape, Cristina Middel Photograph the astronauts of the Zambian space program, Inma Femenía recreates the digital lighting effects we live with every day, Susana Guerrero tix a coat of glue with recycled cables and Nelo Vinuesa reinterprets the landscape genre from a very calculated abstraction. This is just a glimpse of what you can see, a panorama of the richness and diversity of contemporary Valencian artistic creation. AU
