The exhibition offers a renewed reading of the garden of the Casa-Estudi Benlliure through the drawings of José and Peppino Benlliure. The House-Museum houses a wide and valuable graphic collection that allows us to approach not only his artistic activity, but also to his interest in the architectural project and in the design of the domestic space and the garden. The research on which the exhibition is based has made it possible to study and interpret a set of hitherto little-known or unpublished sketches, directly linked to the house, the study and the family garden on the street of Blankies. through eastos dibuixos, the direct involvement of the Benlliure in the various extensions and reforms made between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century is evident, as well as the close relationship between these architectural transformations and the configuration of the garden.
The exhibition tour is organized in several stages that show the evolution of the garden, from the inherited space, of a horticultural nature, to the projected garden, already conceived as a representative space and stage of the painter's family and social life. The drawings reveal a process of continuous experimentation with multiple alternatives for the study, the house and the outdoor spaces, as well as special attention to the built elements of the garden.
The exhibition can be visited until 13 Tuesdays through Saturdays, September 11 (of 10 a 14 and of 15 a 19 hours) and on Sundays and holidays (of 10 a 14 hours).
