this year ago 750 years after the death of James I, the monarch who created the kingdom of Valencia and endowed it with its own laws and institutions. In order to commemorate the anniversary, the Delegation of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans in Valencia proposes conferences that will address various facets of the character: its historical dimension (Andalusian society before and after the conquest, Christian-feudal conquest and colonization, and the king's wives), the memory (the memory and image of the monarch in literature, culture and art) and commemoration (the festivals of the Standard and the 9 of October, as well as the future commemoration of the Mallorcan and Valencian conquests). The days include a concert by the Chapel of Ministers.
