L’any 1996, Joan Manuel Serrat celebrated at the Palau Sant Jordi a tribute to his colleagues from the Nova Cançó and to some authors and poets who influenced its development. From that concert came a double album entitled Soundtrack of a time, of a country.
Thirty years after that tribute, Borja Penalba and Meritxell Gené they have gathered to go back. After the success of the preview in the United States, Penalba and Gené arrive with From a time, of a country. 30 years, a newly created show paying tribute to the great names of the Nova Cançó, produced by the Barnasants Festival, and which they now present in the Valencian Country.
It is a sound journey that dialogues with the essence of the big names like Maria del Mar Bonet, Lluís Llach, Raymond, Ovidi Montllor, Isidor Marí, among many other voices that have marked several generations. With an exquisite sensitivity and an artistic complicity that crosses the stage, Penalba and Gené revisit these songs from the present, with own arrangements and a contemporary look that preserves its poetic and emotional strength.
