The Bancaja Foundation has presented the exhibition The secret harmony of thought, what aruns six decades of Gustavo Torner's career, a leading artist of Spanish contemporary art who contributed decisively to the consolidation of abstraction in Spain. The presentation has had participation of the president of the Bancaja Foundation, Rafael Alcon, and the curator of the exhibition, the doctor in Art History Alicia Vallina. The exhibition offers a monographic tour of the work of the artist from Cuenca in it that its evolution can be seen from the initial figuration to the field of abstraction, with a later production characterized by extreme simplification. The sample reúne 42 parts, dated between 1955 y 2004, in which different forms of plastic expression used throughout his career, such as painting, are represented., the sculpture, graphic work or collage.

The work of Gustavo Torner, an artist initially trained as a forestry engineer, shows an analytical and reflective look at nature, matter and space. He was one of the most prominent members of the so-called “Cuenca Group”, alongside artists such as Fernando Zóbel and Gerardo Rueda. The tour of the room is structured in four sections that bring together different aesthetic and conceptual treatments by Torner.: geometry as mystical order; the dialogue between matter and emptiness; creative transversality; and the poetics of silence. He speech exhibition allows us to appreciate everything from his most primitive material approaches to conceptual compositions in which the order, The perception, the color, structures and space take on an essential role. His work is built from the careful observation of the natural world without attempting to reproduce it., revealing its internal structures, its rhythms and its invisible tensions.

The exhibition can be visited at the headquarters of the Bancaja Foundation in Valencia (Tetuan Square, 23) of the 19 from June to 20 September 2026.
