29 Jazz festival: What a wonderful word

Valencia Jazz “What a Wonderful World” Band It is the Palau's own production that brings together prominent names of current Valencian jazz.. The repertoire of this project is based on arrangements written by the members of the group themselves on popular songs from the international songbook., with a selection of famous compositions of popular music that transition through jazz, the pop, bolero and flamenco.

The trumpeter David Pastor will present his new album, The Abraxas Sessions Vol. 4, a tribute to Dizzy Gillespie, jazz legend and revolutionary bebop figure, whose influence marked a before and after in the history of music.

Singer Cristina Blasco present his new project, Bohemia, an album inspired by great classics of French song with a contemporary and jazzy touch.

Also the Castellón vocalist Bárbara Breva will present a new project produced by Nacho Mañó: Spanish Standards, a tribute to the great classics of the Spanish copla, the pasodoble, the zarzuela and the cuplé, fused with jazz and the Mediterranean essence.

For your part, Ximo Tebar presents two new books this year, JAZZ 4’33’’ y Silence improvises, an artistic and conceptual project based on a deep reflection on silence, improvisation, space and listening as the essence of musical creation and as a philosophy of life. During the concert he will perform JAZZ 4’33’’, a work that transfers these ideas to the stage from freedom, attention and improvisation.

The band is completed with José Luis Granell al sax, Joan Monne on the floor, Victor Merlo to the low e Igor Tavan to the battery.
