This edition of Dansa Valencia is special for several reasons. Because she is a director's debut, Mar Jimenez, chosen in an open call process last year; because it consolidates the condensed format in a week that was refished in 2017; because it retrieves the section Dance aimed at a family audience; because it offers us three absolute premieres by Valencian companies (Divine Words of the Generalitat Ballet, Lo inevitable of Dunatacà i Little Big Blue of Panicmap); because the festival includes two rooms that give a lot of life to dance in its regular programming such as Carme Teatre and Espacio Inestable, because the presence of Valencian companies is increasing (10 of 19); for the importance given to the street shows in Plaça del Patriarca (Good girl d’Gestring Sisters); and for the intergenerational character (The many of Mariantonia Oliver), of gender (We women of Sun chopped) i social (trays of Titoya Son) that permeates many of the pieces. The unmissables crown the poster FLA.CO.MEN d'Israel Galván [13] i Now of Lasalle [14], but there is more and highly recommended: A-normal or the wandering sheep of The Siamese [11]; i Zero of Humanhood, Pelvic d’Otradanza i The Curse of the Malboro Men d’Isabel Vázquez [12].
