RIALTO THEATER. Pl. town hall, 17
Lise Meitner was an Austrian scientist who researched radioactivity and nuclear physics, pioneer at the beginning of the 20th century. She had to leave Nazi Germany to be Jewish, fact that explains that the works in which he collaborated (such as the discovery of the fission of heavy nuclei) were signed solely by his close collaborator, Otto Hahn. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1944 and Lisa Meitner never got her recognition. The discovery of the chain reaction is also his, key to the atomic bomb. The Rialto Theater pays tribute to a woman despised by her colleagues and the institutions of the time in Meitner Project (remembering Lise Meitner). INÉS LUJÁN
