In 1980, The writer Raymond Carver sent his editor a series of stories, between them, “Beginners”. The editing work was intense and relentless., to such an extent that it practically gave rise to a new story titled “What we talk about when we talk about love.”. The theatrical adaptation Beginners is based primarily on the original version and features recurring elements of Carver's literary universe. On stage, four characters—a veteran couple and another couple whose relationship is more recent—talk about love, relationships and predestination from their different perspectives and experiences.
