Madama Butterfly

P. ARTS. Professor Lopez Piñero, 1

At the end of the 19th, The Japanese aesthetic spread in the form of postcards throughout Europe thanks to commercial relations with the country of the rising sun.. Within this cultural current, Giacomo Puccini writes a lyrical work denouncing colonial abuses. Madama Butterfly is an allegory to the chrysalis of a woman who vindicates herself. as a new century dawns. The Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka will be accompanied by the Italian tenor Piero Pretti, Angel Òdena and Cristina Faus. Maestro Antonino Fogliani will conduct the Valencian Community Orchestra and Emilio López's production will remind us of oriental engravings and postcards. LUCAS SÁEZ
