Illa Devon

FROM THURSDAY 10 ON SUNDAY 20/2
CARME THEATER. Gregory Gea, 6

Illa Devon tells us about Esther's journey, a character - built with scraps of reality and all the force of poetry - who invents a utopia island to integrate his experience in a psychiatric hospital. This new bet by the Valencian playwright Anna Albadalejo tells us about the spaces of consciousness, which have been explored a lot in the cinema and not so much in the theatre, looking for ways to generate empathy towards people going through complicated mental health processes. The piece uses stage language to explore the poetic and scenic possibilities of delirium, and deconstruct the stigma of madness. G.T.
